i601A approved in June, Interview in Sept
#i601a #I-601A #NVC Hi I just wanted to to give an update on my husband’s case so people can have a timeline. Please keep in mind that everyone’s case is different so it may work out differently for your case. My husband’s i601a was received on 3/5/2020 approved on 6/6/23 after we filed a writ of mandamus in May 2023 after submitting many inquiries & contacted our congressman and speaking to Tier2 agents (which was useless). We were very lucky to have the waiver approved because I do know that USCIS is now fighting back against individual mandamus. We submitted our DS-260 back in December 2022 to get a head start on things and NVC quickly responded in 3 weeks saying they had reviewed all of our civil docs and that only one was missing. We waited until after we filed the lawsuit to submit that last document to NVC because we didn’t want to get an interview date before having the waiver approved. NVC then DQ my husband’s case on 7/6/23 and approved our expedite request on 7/7/23 (my attorney went ahead a submitted an expedite request to NVC and luckily they approved it). My husband’s interview will be in Honduras. The embassy in Honduras received my husband’s case on 7/10/23 and they also approved the expedite and we got an email from NVC saying that once the embassy in Honduras had a date available for my husband they would schedule and then notify us. On 8/1/23 we got an email saying my husband’s interview appointment was scheduled for September!! Honduras seems to be moving very quickly with their visa appointments and we feel very blessed to have gotten an appointment so quickly. Please don’t give up hope. I know this process has been long and painful for many of us. I truly hope that you all have your waivers approved soon 🙏🏼
