EAD/AP approved, can i register my own company or start side hustles
Hi i am currently on a h1-b visa, I recently filed for i-140 and AOS after marrying my wife who is a US citizen. I filed in march and got approval for EAD/AP today. Can i register my own company or start a side hustle (uber/doordash) after i get my EAD card? I know I cannot do it while on H1-B. Thanks. #ead #h1b #startup

VAWA based GREEN CARD APPROVED, NO INTERVIEW
Here's a quick summary of my journey.
Jan 2020 - reached out to an attorney. He suggested applying for VAWA.
For the next 3 years, I'd get a lot of EAD every year, sometimes with gaps which resulted in the employer laying me off due to no work authorization.
I wasn't able to travel either until I finally received my travel permit I-131 in April 2022 which was valid for one year until April 2023.
Mar 2023 - VAWA petition approved.
Aug 2023 - I-485 RFE - medical exam
Nov 2023 - Today I received an email from my lawyer with a photocopy of my green card. I checked MyUSCIS and it confirms that my I-485 was approved last week.
This was my journey of about 4 years from the beginning of applying for VAWA until my green card was approved.
There's another 5 years before that where I had to deal with USCIS, spouse, divorce, etc. that part was all done without a lawyer and I wish I had picked one sooner. After 9 years my struggle finally ends and I am a free person who can travel and see the world.
It seems like my green card was approved without needing to do an interview.
Good luck everyone, I'm out #vawa #ead #greencard
I-360 VAWA finally approved after 9 years journey, need advice
My journey started in 2014. Fast forward to early 2020 when I decided to apply for VAWA because things didn't work out as it should.
I had my EAD every year renewed while I was waiting. However, due to COVID the extension renewal didn't come in time last year so I got laid off and unemployeed since Aug 2022. Reached out to congresswomen and filing for expedite didn't help either.

Today my I-360 after 3 years, finally got approved! With that, the approval letter says that my EAD will be sent to me seperately.
I am not celebrating yet because I don't have the green card in my hands yet.
The whole point of this post is to ask others who are in similar position: What's next? How long is the waiting time for the actual interview? And how difficult is the interview process?

EAD Approved 🥳 🎉
Finally it’s my turn to give back to this community 🙏 The posts and comments here were very helpful in our process to expedite EAD. Sharing our experience in case it can be helpful to others.
- July 6: called USCIS at 8am EST at 8003755283, said infopass, and spoke to an agent to request an expedite based on a pending job offer and financial loss category. Was given a referral number starting with T1B1 (the referral doesn’t seem to be helpful because there’s no way to track the request. Never got a confirmation that the request was created). If you don’t call at 8am, it’s fine too, just keep in mind the wait is long.
- July 11: used the online Emma chat to follow up on my request. This was the only time we could manage to get in queue (typed infopass until getting in queue) so preferred to call subsequent times.
- July 15: called to follow up and also sent a message through USCIS online account (never got any response through the online account).
- July 20: called again and put a second request, got a new referral number also starting with T1B1.
- July 22: got an email from USCIS asking to fax supporting documents to a number. Same day faxed all of the documents. They only asked to fax job offer letter, but we included others: Cover letter explaining our situation and noting the team at NBC to address the attention to, a copy of USCIS email, job offer letter, doctor’s notes, medical bills, tuition bills, rent and electricity bills.
- July 25: noticed something looked different for my I-765 case on my online account in the morning (there’s a blue section on top left saying concurrent filing). Case approved in the afternoon.
Hope this helps people waiting for their news and best of wishes to the community. #ead #expedite
