Change of Address after AOS Interview
Mabuhay! 🇵🇭
Hello everyone! We had the interview on Jan 2022 in California and we moved to Iowa a month ago. We informed our officer about the move and she changed our mailing address during the interview.
March 7th - I changed the address online and the next day, our friend (from the old address) told us that we got a notice in the mail. It was a Cancellation notice. Our case is updated from “Interview was scheduled” to “Interview Cancelled or Descheduled”.
March 21st - Case is updated again. From “Interview Cancelled” back to “Interview was scheduled”.
March 22nd - I called the USCIS to verify the changes and the agent said that we were actually scheduled for the interview at 3pm on that day at SJ FO. I was like “😳”. Ay yi yi! I told them we didn’t get anything in the mail and I just requested to reschedule the interview (if this is really another interview, then I think this would be a Stokes Interview). Yikes!
I’m assuming that the Cancellation notice was probably because of the change of address. But I could be wrong.
Also, a week after our interview, we received a call from the IO herself. She tried to call us 3 times and left us a voicemail. The voicemail was cut off - it was only 3 secs. She called us to verify a document and asked us if we could just stop by at the FO to give her a copy of that document. It was weird actually lol. So yeah, we went back to SJ FO 2 weeks after our interview to submit the requested document. PS. we didn’t received any RFE notice or anything. Just a phone call lol
Anyone with the similar experience? Thank you so so so much in advance!

No decision after I-485 Interview (K1 AOS)
Hey all,
We will have had our AOS interview 30 days ago tomorrow. The officer was very clinical and was not in the mood for niceties. It was quite jarring as her questions were vague and difficult at times to understand what exactly she was asking. She got seemingly frustrated but clarified and we were able to answer correctly. Other than that, it was fine. Afterwards, she took about a dozen photos from our albums, and declined to look at any more evidence stating she had all that she needed and that she’d review it and we’d find out within 120 days (she emphasized this).
We did not get a letter there nor in the mail and our case status remains at “interview scheduled.” Considering the status hasn’t changed to “under review”, it makes me think it hasn’t been touched at all. I’m concerned because we didn’t get a decision on the spot, but I’ve been told it isn’t abnormal. I don’t see why she wouldn’t approve it given the evidence, the previously approved K1, and the fact that we’ve been married for almost 2 years now.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
