that means your PD isn’t current. so they have closed your case temporarily until it becomes current. i suppose this is done to improve the stats on USCIS quarterly stats

A “Case Remains Pending” message in case status online indicates that an officer reviewed the application and determined that it could not be approved on that date because the Department of State could not allocate a visa number. Once a visa number can be allocated, USCIS will resume the processing of the application

@N F we got same status “case remains pending” in August 2023. our attorney also says it means the officer worked on it and most probably approved . why do you think this status means preaproval?

Does an update on your case as Visa bulletin not current or Case held in Abeyance as same as CRP?

@DA AR because after CRP you may be called for interview or get RFE (rarely happens) and it doesn't mean you get your actual residency. and after CRP your case will change to NCBP and then case was approved. so I think CRP only means pre approval.

@N F I have received medical and bona fide marriage RFE before , they are attached to i485. what does NCBP mean ? everyone I know went from CRO straight to approval

when did you file for i485?
