Advanced Parole Document approved sent and received, can I leave the country?
hi,
long story short, I’m waiting for my green card application to get approved. I applied for advanced parole at the same time as my green card application. I haven’t received any news or updates about my green card but my advanced parole document was approved. I want to leave the country and visit Canada (home) but I’m worried I may not be let back in? has anyone had a problem traveling with their advanced parole document before green card approval?

No issues so far! I've traveled abroad several times using my I-512 (Advanced Parole) while waiting for my green card and have always returned to the U.S. without any problems. Each time, they simply direct me to a room where I receive a stamp upon re-entry.

was your application for green card done through adjustment status application? I got married in the US to a citizen 2 weeks before my b2 visa expired but I applied for green card April 1…. was this simple to your situation? do you think they could deny me back into the US since I over stayed my visa? thank you!

my application is through AOS (i-485) which I’m still waiting for. As for the visa, I got married to a US citizen as well but my application was submitted before my previous visa expired so I’m not sure how it works in your case, unfortunately. best to talk to a lawyer.
