@Mrs Mrs came as j1 was valid till next year, got a waiver before AOS process began.

@Kuki Elanol , You may be confusing AOS application time with I-140 approval time. the average 6-8 month is after submission of AOS and not counting it from the date of I-140 approval. Hence you can only start counting down the 6-8month after the date you I485 application is received. Good luck.
