working before working for the sponsor
Can I work in somewhere else like restaurant before working for my sponsor ?
If I get w-2 from the restaurant before working for my sponsor, will it affect i-485 proccess ?
My sponsor is on off-season, I need to wait few months.

You can work any job with your EAD, however make sure you ask and tell that situation to your Agent. In case when you’re working and you have the RFE about I485J or paáytubs or interview , so your sponsor and Agent can handle that matters for you. Good luck

@Greeen 2023 @Jay N @Kim kim I agree, my agent told me the same that I can work any jobs. Safest way is to work for sponsor first, then find a side gig. However, I’m afraid of working before working for the sponsor.

i think you can, thats fine, the law not required you to work for sponsor before green card but u also prepare a good reason if u get interview and they ask

@eb3 unskilled Don’t be, you can check on I485J form. it said you intend to work for you sponsor after I485 is approved.
you will be fine.
That’s why I told you make sure your sponsor sign I485J for you if USCIS request RFE.

You can work freely when you get your EAD but there is a gray area once you used it not working for your sponsor so I suggest you work for your sponsor and do side jobs
