Will relocating help I130 processing time?
Hello everyone! I work from home full time and I filed I130 for my spouse who is in India. I reside in Atlanta Georgia and the application went to California service center and my priority date is 01/28/2022. I checked the processing time of I130 and see that Texas service center processing time is 5 months compared to California service center which is 24 months. Can anyone help me make a decision here based on their experience or someone else experience? If I move to Texas and submit form AR 11 l, will the application be transferred to Texas service center and can I expect a quicker process? please help me! #I130 #I-130 #CSC #TSC

I think you can't choose the center, it has nothing to do with where you live. Mine are in California and my petitioner lives in Chicago.

@floridaeb3. I’m from India too and my spouse (US Citizen) is in Texas. Case got transferred from Nebraska to California. PD : Nov 20th 2021. Still actively reviewing. Current timelines for California i130 processing has increased to 10 months. So be patient.

Thank you everyone for responding to my post. my attorney also confirmed that uscis has full control over where the case is being processed and the applicant location does not matter.

@John R, can you tell me where you see the processing times for California to be 10 months. I checked the processing times on uscis website and it says to be around 24 months

@floridaeb3 Good to check with Emma (USCIS Chat Bot) on where your case has been transferred. There are situations where the case might be transferred to another service center. Mine was initially at Nebraska and now it’s at California Service Center.

Thank you John for sharing the link and information. i am a permanent resident and that’s why the processing time is 24.5 months. 😞
