They are two different offices.You will get your EAD.

the RFE will not delay the I -765 . I got more than 3 RFE’s in my case but that didn’t delay my I-765(EAD).Though I now have my 10yrs GC.

I asked my lawyer this question and she said it all depends on the person who has your file…they may or may not. In my case I applied May 5, 2023, received an RFIE in October ‘23 and then again in April ‘24. I didn’t get my EAD approved until I sent in my second RFIE response. It took a little over a year for my EAD approval and now I’m just waiting on them to produce and mail my card.

I see a looooot of EADs approved right after RFE received. however I got my EAD instantly after biometrics and I got an RFIE 5 months later. I think it depends. you should respond to it ASAP just in case.

@sandy core - I hope they don’t delay it for you either. as for the RFE extension- I’m not 100% sure but if I were you I’d direct this question to a lawyer to be sure. I’m wishing you luck!

i am sailing in the same boat, i filled in dec 2023 and got a RFIE in march 2024 and responded back in may 2024. so far my EAD is pending and also i didn't hear anything from them. i think it is related with i-485. do you have any update on your EAD ?

@Guiber Son I checked today the EAD has update after submitting I-485. it shows 4 weeks and still at step 2 😂 it is funny and reducious as my step 2 biometrics has been done long time ago but still stuck at step 2 biometrics. what about your EAD has any update today?

mine is stuck at step 3. initially my estimated progress time was showing 4 weeks then it changed to 1 week then to taking longer than expected. after 4 months it changed again to 4 weeks then in 4 weeks it again changed to longer than expected. this is very confusing and frustrating. i tried many times to spoke with a live agent, they just copy paste the current status which is showing on our progress tab. i dont understand why is it happening with only few people, i saw people get their approvals on the same day of biometric.

i saw they are approving the EAD's of july, aug, sep and nov 2023. i saw it on casestatusext website

@Guiber Son today i checked again it shows from 1 month changed to 4 months now … it seems the movement same time as I-485 moved :: //

mine showing 5 months for decision and 4 months for the current step. but i think it is not reliable

@Guiber Son i checked today now it is 3 months from 4 weeks -4months-3months just in 7 days 😂 their computer system is strange

that's crazy, i don't understand how it works and how they are estimating this time.

oh 😥 mine recently changed to 2 month now i sent twice expedite too but they said ca not expediate :/
