What will happen to the people whose PDs are Aug 2, 2023?
My PD is Jan 2, 2024. I'm very scared if for the next bulletin the filing date will jump up to Jan 1st, 2024 and I'll be screwed. Like you see it's for 7 month that the filing date has not moved from Aug 1, 2023. It means that the guy whose PD was Aug 2nd is waiting more than others to get current for filing I-485.

It’s very very unlikely that the next VB will jump to Jan 1st.

I think people who filed I-485 up to Aug 2023 are still waiting for the GC.

@Living Hope oh no I didn't know. thanks for letting me know.

@Amir H what VB stands for?
Forough .Mar 15, 2025
@VM Nov. 2024/Texas Even filing I-485 can be a relief for me. Cause I'm on J1 visa and I can't not have a status even for a day! filing I-485 and a pending I-485 gives you a status and permission to stay in the US.

@Forough . filing the i485, doesn’t give you “Status”, is a technical limbo, that you are “PR Pending” and if you get for some reason denied, you might have to leave the country (“If your I-485 application is denied, you could be forced to leave the United States immediately. USCIS” , This is why lawyers recommend you to stay until the approval on your status either, F1, J1, etc. But you should also ask a lawyer, mine is totally against this, so I’m on F1 and planing to study something for an extra year to avoid any risk situations.
