What happens after Service Request?
Hello! My I-485 has been pending since March 2023 - more than 1 year.
MSC239035 block. Live Chat said it’s at NBC.
PD Nov 2022 and current in April bulletin. RFE Sent in August 2023 and since then no updates (“we have received the RFE response”). changed to Case Remains Pending then back again to received RFE response.
Raised a Service Request for outside of normal processing times (waiting 8 months since Response received) - anyone know what should happen next?

@S G the live agent on the phone said NBC can make the final decision and sometimes no need to send to the field office…hope that’s the case

@A. N. I also submitted March 2023. I am current since April 1. Would you think I am also eligible to file service request? what reason should I give if I file service request?

so frustrating..hope we all get approved soon. I put as the reason RFE response was pending more than 60 days.

I didn’t understand how it is outside the normal processing time

because USCIS states it should take a decision after RFE response received after 60 days… and it has been many months. also the I-485 is outside normal processing times for my Field office

@A. N. My lawyer did a SR for my I-131 AP last month (I have same filing date as yours). They responded to us after 25 days saying it was being processed normally but AP was approved within a couple of days of that. Not sure if SR for I485 works the same way but it might force them to have a look at yours case for sure. I haven't even got an acknowledgement for my I-485 RFE from USCIS for months.

my PD is november 2022, became current in the April bulletin, and I’m on CRP since october 2023.

I’m in the same boat as you. Unfortunately, from what I see and hear it’s normal to wait this long. (it’s been only 1 year) Also, I didn’t see anywhere on the USCIS processing website that 12 months is a normal processing time. I see minimum 16 months… but hopefully service request will help you. let us know.
