What happens after I-130 approval?
I’m currently waiting for my husbands I-130 to be approved. filed September 2023. curious as to what happens next and how long it will actually take for him to get a visa. What is the timeline between I-130 approval and your spouse actually being able to come to the U.S.? Also I’m lost as to what the next steps are. Any insight would be much appreciated

after i130 approval your case will go to NVC. you will have fill out new forms. submit documents, and pay the fees. then they’ll review your documents and let you know if it’s all set. they review pretty quickly, 1-3 weeks. after they approve you at NVC they send your case to the consulate in the country of beneficiary and over there the wait for interview begins. in some countries you get interview dates in couple weeks and in some countries like Pakistan, the wait is 2 years.

@Jessica O, please I will just like to find out from you if the person who filed was a permanent resident spouse with a green card. and secondly does your case involve in consular processing. I mean was it sent to any embassy abroad ❓.

@Jessica O It's not taking 11.5 months for USCIS approval anymore. It's around 14 months for consular processing unless they do the k3 that works sometimes and they get approved faster

@Rizwan Javed this wait of 2 years is for IR-1 visa category in Pakistan? and how you get to know that timeline means at which website it’s available?

@Jessica O are you a green card holder

@Jessica O Yes, that year that you filed was very different than these days. Times have been increasing every month lately. Right now they are approving cases from June 28th and 29th. Only 2 months ago I saw approved people that took 13 months. 3 months ago it was taking 12 months. More parole programs they create = longer the time that USCIS take to approve i-130 petitions
