if you are married to an American citizen and you have added your I-485 to your vawa application, your work authorization Co9 based on I-485 will be approved first in less than 6 months but your work authorization C31 based on vawa will be approved once your vawa is approved and not before. But if you are married to a permanent resident, your work authorization C31 will be approved once your vawa is approved, not before
