Vawa case
Hey, I wanted to share something personal. I left my husband about 3 years ago. A few months ago, he wanted to reconcile and even went to some anger management and AA classes, but then he stopped. Unfortunately, he started being emotionally abusive again and hit me once. I never withdrew my application because my lawyer advised me not to because what if he doesn’t change . Now I just found out I’m pregnant and I’m worried it might affect my case or be seen as fraud. I do have a lot of evidence of the abuse though. my Vawa has been pending for 31 month now

Congratulations, no need to worry. Part of vawa is making sure the marriage was legitimate and real. It’s normal, people separate and rekindle. In your case your relationship unfortunately did not work after rekindling. Your pregnancy and baby are potentially proof that your relationship was real. If y’all took any pictures together, or if you have any additional proof of you both living together, just save it as evidence. Incase they send you a request for evidence to support that your marriage was real, you can then send your pregnancy test results, your baby’s birth certificate, pictures, proof that y’all lived together, proof of abuse and a statement with the different timelines and details as to why y’all got together again and eventually why you separated. I believe you will be fine, however just confirm with your attorney.
