$9500 is it a celebrity lawyer?? Just do some research and most of lawyer is working online. They can help you charging less than this amount

@JJj Yes $9500 is only for attorney fees and he mentioned I could able to keep my I-485 and others approval. so I don’t know why fees are so high.

I think is gonna be suspicious for Uscis you get in the country ,married with your visa for crew ,went to your interview ,you said in your interview your married was bonafide and everything is good and NOW you wanna apply for VAWA.sound you want a American visa to any cost and be careful with that. or they gonna denied or you will have a second interview.honestly VAWA take years and you have to prove tons of abuse .think about it

@Nina MR abused is back in 2021 this time I call domestic violence hotline and they telling me where to go but in that situation I can’t even drive and have to work 11 hours for six days to pay the rent and groceries.

@Nina MR my wife hit me , took money from our joint account and go for another men. She move out and pay the rent with my money, that’s before our interview and officer don’t asked any questions during interview end up with my visa issues.

move to a shelter or another place,file for VAWA and record all ,take statement s for the bank,the money stolen.But 9.5 k is lawyer abuse.you can find very easily orgs or church that will give VAWA for you .you have to find advocates .

you need to hire attorney and you need to get evidence of abuse like police reports and hospital reports that you was suffering .. otherwise your whole case will ve denied

thats not gonna work .. you need police report abd hospital report that's what uscis look at as a serious case .. you need to come up with a lot of evidence. police report abd hospital report and copy of certificate that you went to therapy and evidence that there is people saw that you suffered

@zee zee not every vawa. case has police report and in most cases that has to do with abuse has it concern men, it’s usually emotional and mental abuse, it’s rarely you find a man calling the police for his wife, it’s always the other way run. You don’t have to have police report to file vawa, if you have it fine, if you don’t have it you can still file vawa through other evidence of abuse

Dre o .. thats correct but he needs evidence.. vawa case is not an easy case to go through unless you have a lot of evidence.. and yes when it come to violence the police has to be involved .. but if it's emotionally then there has to be evidence .. the best thing is to find a good lowyer

i have not received prima facie yet it’s been 11 months ? VAWA case USCIS received in March 4th later I received letter saying that they used my old biometrics I never received my work permit (EAD) but never received prima facie .. do I have to worry about anything , is it normal to not receive prima facie it’s been 11 months .appreciated.Thank you

@Dre O and @Zee the stories is after we got married she quit her job and let me run for entire of marriage. I work so hard for paying rent and others including oils for her car and pets. Yes, she filed petition for me while she laid off.

i would advise you just manage the marriage and get what you want. i have a brother who went through all this. he left his apartment for the lady and car but still pay the rents till dis month. fortunately for he he just got his 10yrs green card. vawa is another 3yrs with enough proofs. i have more than 5 police reports. my husband went to jail he was given terrorist threat and 5yrs probation.and 2 other charges. the police took me to shelter i have all the reports. other organizations came to rescue me i have paper work and neighbor testify with writing. The only thing i see is case is reviewing since jan 2020 i filed. no ead except prima. the wait is long but if you don't mind you can try.

@CawaOct2021 who is your lawyer, it’s way too much. The one what I talk about it he will charge $3500 down , after travel documents approved than $3000 and the last $3000 when VAWA is finally approved. so not exactly expensive I think it worth it if really happen.

I think VAWA process is terribly long and stressful so if you can work things in your marriage, that's great. If not, paying for 9k for an experienced lawyer is worth it.

@ Star Fruit my lawyer is the top guy in immigration in FL. As I mentioned the $11K INCLUDES cost of VAWA paperwork PLUS I had to fight removal proceedings as well. I filed Oct 2021, got Prima Facie and already got EBT and Drivers License sorted. I had a friend do their VAWA through Catholic Charities for around $3,500, they are more affordable and usually get positive results for the immigrant community and sometimes their cases go through faster (it seems). Go with a reputable Lawyer that has experience in VAWA that treats you and your case with empathy. I wish everyone all the best!

@SS How do you apply for a financial aid with prima facie? I have prima facie, and I really need financial aid as my EAD expired.

just apply as “eligible non citizen” and wait to hear back from your school. You need to show your documentation to your school for proof of citizenship. My school never heard of the term prima facie so I had to show them everything and explain to them the situation
