Vawa and I-130
I applied for my first marriage-based green card in 2020, but things didn’t work out between me and my first wife. I filed for VAWA in July 2022 due to the abuse I experienced from her. I received my EAD and prima facie determination. In December 2024, I got married again, and my second wife recently filed the I-130, I-485, and I-765 last week. We are currently waiting for the receipt notice.
I just realized that if you have a pending but not yet approved VAWA case and you get married, it automatically disqualifies you from VAWA. Additionally, I just received a notice that my VAWA case has been transferred to a different field office. What does it mean when a VAWA case is transferred to another field office?

Apparently the case is still active if it was transferred to another office.

just forget about the VAWA since you hsve remarried bcos you hsve automatically lost the benefit VAWA once remarried.. Focus on your New Marriage and the benefit of its immigration .

The VAWA has been forfeited because of the new marriage.
you should have just done a mere ceremony to celebrate family.
Then you can go to court for proper wedding after the VAWA has been approved.

I consulted two lawyers and they all told me I can remarry and nothing will happen and that was why I did it

@Dri al you meant you sent your new marriage receipt notice to the Vermont Centre?
Dri alApr 3, 2025
@kim avra
I sent my divorce and my new marriage certificate and the hand-signed letter

@Dri al Why is it necessary to send all of that documents to the Vermont?
Dri alApr 4, 2025
@kim avra The lawyer told me it would be better to explain it to Vermont.
because he was canceling my case.
so as not to raise suspicion
