VAWA
Does anyone know the type of divorce to do in VAWA cases? I want to divorce my wife because I really don’t need her anymore. Do I really need a lawyer for this?

So you used her for a visa in other words and now that she’s helped you become a successful citizen you want a divorce? I hope no one helps you.

The statement sounds like she’s been used in the first place, be mindful. and you sure can go to a courthouse for Contested If Only Onr part agrees and Uncontested if both part agrees to the divorce

My wife abused me and I filled for VAWA. What else would I be doing with a wife who pulled GUN on me or ordered me beating? I was married for 8 years so you all know before judging

hey, it was how your words were placed. I'm sure everyone means well at the end of the day. Please be sure to use "wife abused you" under no circumstance should you say you dont need her anymore. It could be taken as something different than what you actually mean

also divorces are based on the state that you live in. you can always google and call around to get more info. Also we dont know the full extent of your marital history but for a VAWA case I wouldnt place too much emphasis on the type of divorce. You will need proof that she abused you. Did you get a police report when she pulled a gun on you?

Are you still living with her?

pls don’t divorce her , u can just leave it hanging until your I360 is approved, bec if anything happens to your I360 , u can always re file . Once u divorce, u can’t re file again, consult your attorney b4 u make decisions

I wouldn't stay in a relationship that is abusive to the point where a partner points a gun at me. I would suggest that you should always get police report. If you are living with her and she does this again dont be afraid to call the police and report what she did. A piece of paper is not worth your life. This is nothing wrong with getting a divorce however you will need solid proof that she has been abusive to you. Consult a lawyer that specialize in VAWA cases. Please be safe.
