Vawa
Hey everyone. I desperately need your advice. I applied for vawa since November 2022 but never received a response. No receipt or anything. I talked to my lawyer multiple times who assured me that it was just delayed after covid and with the influx of immigrants in nyc and that responses are taking longer than usual. My sister's wedding is in the end of May and I would love to attend but I have no receipt or anything to apply for an emergency parole which he assured me I would be able to receive. According to him he has had meetings with people higher up to figure out why it's taking so long but everything I can he says give it two more weeks. I'm beyond worried at this point cause it's been almost 2 years and I have no receipt, work permit or travel permit. Is there something I can do? Help. Or did he just take my money and never did the work? #help#vawa#noreceipt#

@For the love of Cats Good morning, im really sorry to say but this sounds sketchy. I personally feel like your attorney is not being honest. You should have atleast recieved recipt notice, not everyone recieves prima facia, but that’s something you recieve if USCIS thinks you qualify for public benefits. If its been 2 years i advice to reach out to another legal team and get advice asap!

Your lawyer is telling you bullshit. please go speak to another lawyer or your senator office and ask for help. Uscis does not take 2yrs to send a receipt notice if they've accepted your application. secondly it's vawa so all communication will go through your lawyer unless you have a safe address for them to send you notices. Good luck

Contact local congress and submit inquiry. You can sue USCIS for a delayed case on your own, you will get a decision within 60 days. Do youtube search to learn more about it, and to get assistance with it "Writ of Mandamus Assistance"

you could submit FOIA request to USCIS and they will provide your file with any and all documents submitted!
