USCIS Temporarily Waiving Form I-693 60-day Rule
https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-temporarily-waiving-60-day-rule-for-civil-surgeon-signatures For applications filed between December 9, 2021 and September 30, 2022. I had to do my medical exam twice because of this 60-day rule…even though my documents were received within the time limit. Lol! Good luck!

I sent a medical exam with my package. However, I received a notice saying the medical exam was signed more than sixty days prior to submission (not true). I ended up doing another exam and brought that to my interview to avoid complications/RFEs. Green card in hand now. I don’t believe you have to re-do the exam if all you received was a deficiency notice. I received a different notice so I did it over. You should be fine.

I applied for my mother 6/14/21 received deficiency notice 8/17, but have not received RFE for medical or interview date yet. Can I do her medical now and will be good for 2 years or should I wait for interview to be scheduled?

what is deficiency notice?

@Shruthi S deficiency notice is just a courtesy letter Uscis sent letting you know that you didn’t send your medical I 693 with your application and you will need to bring the I 693 to your interview or they will send you a RFE letting you know where to send it if your case doesn’t require an interview

Yessi, I suggest waiting until the interview is scheduled. The actual interview is usually 4-6 weeks out. In the meantime, get all vaccination records ready/figure out what vaccines your mom needs. Ib, yes, they’ll accept it. Good luck!

does it mean if we do the medical exam now, we can submit it anytime before September 30, 2022 ? If you are expecting the interview before September 30, 2022, I guess we can do the medical exam and keep it ready ?
Stacey ODec 10, 2021
Buzz, this is only for people who are including their medical with their initial application. If you have already submitted your application, you can do the medical anytime as that’s valid for 2 years. However, I suggest waiting until the interview is scheduled (like I did for the second medical) because some field offices are slow. Example Seattle FO.

@lb sure did they accept your medical exam report in the interview? Because i have the same question of that.. I did my medical on September 2021,and my interview is next month
Michelle CliffordJan 12, 2022
The medical report supposed valid 2years.. And i don't want to take the covid vaccines, so my lawyer suggest me do a waiver which charge 1300usd and 930usd for the USCIS 601form.. That's a lot

Ib su, you did your medical AFTER submitting your AOS package, correct? If that’s the case, the IO wrongfully rejected it.

I did my medical last September, 4months ago, i am not sure my medical report is still available, because they updated the form and requested covid vaccines started Oct. 1.. And my interview is next month... I worry they will reject my medical report
Stacey OJan 14, 2022
Your medical was performed before October 1st so the covid vaccine requirement does not apply to you. However, your interviewing officer might ask to see proof of vaccination. I’ve seen cases where people were asked even though the exam was signed before October 1st. My IO said this at the interview: “Oh good! you got your covid and flu shots” before moving on to verifying joint documents.
