Updating address in USCIS online account after filing i-485
Hi everyone, I’m planning to apply for Adjustment of Status (EB2 NIW) in April, and I have a question about changing addresses while the application is in process. My current lease ends on June 30, 2026, and I’ll be moving to a new place in July (likely in a different state) since I’ll be starting my PhD in August. This means I’ll need to update my address with USCIS after I move. I’ve come across several posts where people mentioned that even after updating their address, important notices—or even the green card—were still sent to their old address. That’s honestly making me a bit anxious. For those of you who changed your address while your AOS/green card was pending: - Did USCIS successfully send your documents to the new address? - How did you update your address (online account, AR-11, both)? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any tips to avoid missing important mail. Thanks in advance!

in my case, i received my wife's EAD on the new address after updating it in the USCIS portal. I guess it won't be an issue. The first step after submission is the letter for biometrics which they will also upload it in the documents section online. in case if you don't receive it due to change in address you may print it and take it on the day of the fingerprints and then let the office know about change in the address.
