the approval of i140 used to take 4 months in 2023. not anymore. according to the USCIS statistics, it is now taking up to 6-7 months to get an approval.

my friend just got approved in Nebraska (last week) after 7 month. So maybe you should hear back latest July

even if you have your approval, you might need to wait for your date to be current for AOS …

@lou ma I agree but people want to know decision fast in the event they have to refile since one loses their priority date if they get denied and don’t file for appeal

yes i know I am on the same boat too, just that I feel the more you focus into it, the slower it will go but I understand totally and sorry didn’t meant offense anyone

@Forest Gump I remember her priority date is late september. She was about to pay for premium processing the next week when she luckily got approved. She ended up saving $2805. You have already waited long so just wait for another 1 month and I am sure you will get approved. Nebraska is slow

@kar C If you have been waiting for less than 3 months, I would have recommended you pay premium but it is now over 5 months for you so it’s best to wait for another 2-3 months max. One thing to know is that processing is really random. One person with a priority date of Feb 2024 (Nebraska too) got approved 61 days (Regular processing no rfe). So really random and just luck

@KK K I wonder why some cases switch to actively reviewed after case received while some cases stay at case received until a decision is made. Hopefully you get an approval soon. good luck
