TSA and ICE
Hi everyone. I wanted to ask about people’s recent experiences with domestic air travel in the U.S. I recently received my EAD a few months ago, and I currently have a pending VAWA case. I also recently received my first Prima Facie Determination. I do not have any criminal record, no Notice to Appear, and no removal order. Even with that, I’m honestly still very nervous about flying right now. I’m not planning any international travel — only domestic flights — but I’m worried about TSA, airport checks, or any possible interaction with ICE/CBP. Has anyone here with a pending VAWA case and EAD flown domestically recently? Did you have any issues at TSA or with immigration officers at the airport? I know nobody can guarantee anything, but I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences or advice on what documents are safest to carry. #VAWA #i360

traveling domestically with a valid real ID you have nothing to worry about. I was at LaGuardia with ICE and dogs when the TSA was partially shut down and they were just smiling and helping people get in the long lines. I was never asked about my status. I showed my license to the TSA and went on my way.

My brother had a removal order. His VAWA is pending with a recent prima facie. He travels to the United States every month with no problem.

I live in Colorado, and in Colorado you can only get a REAL ID driver license by obtaining the GC. So, in my case - Id be only using my EAD for traveling.
