Traveling with approved advance parole
is it advisable to travel outside the US though my EAD and I-512(advance parole) card is approved and card received….my main application is I-140 and decision being awaited. Has anyone traveled outside US with the parole and re-entered seamlessly not affecting the application in process? thanks

hmmm… this is a super gray area. Some people says do it, while some others say don’t unless really necessary (emergency). Our case for example, is an approved EB3-3 with combo card in hand and i485 still pending. We’re literally just sitting waiting for the GC since we already did everything (biometrics, rfe response with only medicals). We miss our trips, not only to our country but to other places as well, however every single lawyer we’ve consulted about this summarizes/agrees on the same: don’t do it unless reaaaally necessary. since the benefit rarely outweights the risk. so I guess we’re gonna postpone our vacations a bit longer 😉

If you ever presented in the US unlawfully, you might not be paroled. If this never happen (assuming also no criminal history), then the only risk is if your I-140 and, subsequently, I 485 are denied while you are outside of the US. Otherwise it is safe, although the ultimate decision is up to a custom officer, and AP does not guarantee you re entrance. This is what my lawyer said. I think, if you are confident that your application is strong and will not be rejected, you may risk. Up to you
