Traveling domestically!
Hey guys, does anyone know if it’s permitted to travel within the US (by plane) with a pending I-485, while my current visa (F1) is still valid? I’d appreciate any answers! It shouldn’t be a problem, but just checking if anyone ever had a similar situation. Thanks xx

@Martin that’s not true your visa is still valid once not expired in your passport. you having a pending i485 does that mean you’re gonna get a Green card. so once visa is valid he’s good. @kada you can even travel on a state ID if you have one, I do it all the time I have never travel within the U.S with a passport etc always my state ID or drivers license.

Hi, don’t get confused, your student visa is still valid because even when you apply to adjustment it doesn’t mean that you have an approved GC, you have to keep your status until you receive your GC. about travels you can travel without any problem I do all the time . I went to Hawaii , San Francisco , LA, Las Vegas , Utah , Colorado y Arizona in January as a part of our anniversary trip, and also twice this month to Puerto Rico .

@charol 💯 percent correct a pending GC doesn’t mean an approve GC so whatever her status is right now that will remain until I-485 is approved and GC is issued.
