Travel with OPT and pending i-485
Dear all, I have a pending i-485 on EB2-NIW. I have OPT-Extension EAD which is valid; I also have EAD for pending i-485.
Should I enter to US with I-20 from OPT extension or I should tell that I am in pending i-485. Please share your experience.

do not under any circumstances enter the US on oPT extension. you can renter on ead from pending i-485 once it states on the card that it serves as advance parol. my lawyers advice against traveling on pending i-485

if it not urgent it's better not to travel. Don't use non immigrant visa to re enter United States. Use combo card or AP. It's better to maintain non immigrant status as long as you can and using AP or combo card will invalidate it.

forgot to mention, I have advance parole in combo EAD card for pending i-485 and I got i-140 approval. However, in the passport, I have a valid F1 visa.

use your EAD and AP card.
Make sure you have a good reason for doing that traveling in top of your mind.

@chris will thank you; i have EAD card with Advance parol. I have EAD card for opt extension too. So, you mean, just use EAD with Adv. Parol when I enter?

@Al O yes use EAD with advance parol to eneter. However unless the travel is ABSOLUTELY necessary do not leave the country until you’ve received the green card
