travel while waiting
I am a U.S citizen who has filed for my husband. our case has not been approved yet and I am wanting to travel with my son to visit his dad. our son was born in April (2024) my question is what do I do when the other parent can not be here to sign the passport form for our child? does anybody know? I believe both parents have to sign the passport forms.

my husband had to do that for our step daughter, she’s in Mexico. he went to the Mexican consular and gave them the daughters name and where she was getting her passport from in Mexico.. all he had to do was sign a paper so the mom can get the passport

I have the same case, my husband is abroad and my baby was born May 2024. we're also going to travel to see my baby daddy. what we did is i sent him the form ds-3053 and he went to the us embassy where he's at and got it notarized then he mailed me it and that's what i submitted along with other requirements. about 6weeks after I got my baby's passport.
