if your vawa is not approved and you travel and on your trip the decision does not suit you, you cannot come back. just wait until your vawa is approved before making any decisions. but as you have a lawyer, ask him for advice, it's better

I replied RFE in just a week when I received it as it was a minor error that needed to be corrected

I travelled about 5 times with pending case, in one of the visits I stayed overseas for 5 months. if this helps.

there is no problem at all traveling on parole. I have been living in USA for over decade. fortunately I got a chance to travel on parole so I traveled for a month to india Hyderabad. I was so sacred to travel but I did it. no problem ( vawa parole )
