so they had a flight to the COP and then from there to the US with GC & NP?

most people travel without question. don't let the news fool you. immigration officers know exactly who they're looking for.

@Mike Raphone I know, I’m not gonna do it. I applied my I-131 since 7 months ago and I will never travel to my home country

I saw people are doing that and coming without issue but when they apply for citizenship the officer will deny the citizenship and will put him in removing proceedings beaucse you have to mention all your trip while applying for citizenship

those questions will come during his citizenship application. Please don’t travel to ur country if your greencard through asylum.

I know some people who travelled to their home country after getting their green card. I did not hear about anyone in 2025 though. I travelled to a 3rd country to meet my family and returned to the US safely this month. My green card is still pending and I used my Refugee Travel document to get the 3rd country’s visa and to travel.

@Jose G7 you good travel to a 3rd country with Travel Document is perfect. But yes I know a crazy man who traveled this month to his home country with his home passport and came back without any problem. I was very scared for him

@Geofrey Ssekabembe @Qa khan His brother and his cousins did the same thing before and are US citizens without any problems. But I told him that immigration is stricter now. I know I will never do that. I already applied my I-131 and I don’t have plan to travel to my country

@LN Asylee using home country passport is not an issue if you travel to third country as I spoke with many attorneys but you should not travel to your home country
