Travel internationally
My family and I are in possession of work/travel combo card but out H4 visa has expired is it safe to travel before obtaining the green card?

It's safe to travel if every member in your family have an Advance Parole. Be prepared for 2nd inspection because CBP needs to check that your i485 is still pending and not rejected, they will also be asking for a good reason from you for making this travel.
