I have heard more people being deported on valid visa than on Advance parole. I actually have never heard CBP not letting people in with advance parole

hello all. the truth is that it may or not be safe to travel. having the right documents doesn't automatically mean that you will enter the US. the final word on that rests on the officers at the customs, as they're the ones who decide whether they let you in or not. of course, it is better to have final documents to better your chances at moving the scale in your favor if they decide to cause you troubles for whatever reason. and trust me, some of them will always look for reasons to be petty and make your life miserable. so, I would personally not risk traveling outside the country if I did not have final documents, in this case the green card. I might take the risk if it is a true emergency like the passing of an immediate family member outside the country. so, ask yourself, is the reason you want to travel before you get your green card worth the risk of not being granted re-entry? as for the countries you can visit without a visa, a simple Google search will give you that answer. and of course, it is your responsibility to call those consulates to verify the information and check what documents you will need. good luck.

Paritosh - I know someone who was refused re-entry with a green card that they had for over 10 years. so, you can't really tell what's going to happen at the customs, and you can't go by stories you hear as every case is different and the same officer can treat two people differently. all you can do is make sure that you have what it would take to fight your way in and win if it comes to that. unecessary risks are not worth it. 🙂

so even you have a 10 green card you can't travel the short answer is whatever documents you have for your return do not have a criminal record what travel documents you have with you on your return you must go through background check

Listen I flew to Europe with AP and came back to the US without any issues. Please, stop thinking and go buy your flight tickets. The Only think I'd say is once at the customs and border protection they'll put you aside in the office while they check your immigration status before to allow you in. That's the only uncomfortable part of the whole trip. Other than that, no questions or documents asked. Only passport and AP. So Go enjoy your life, we only have one!!!!!!!! Remember guys we're in the pandemic, they might shutdown several countries again... just saying! Good luck.

Yes you can travel. There's no reason to refuse your entry as long as uscis gave you this permission. Unless, if you have criminal records I advise you Don't travel. Ap doesn't give you visa free in any country. You must have a passport and visa from where would you like to travel

the reality is advance parole is not for leisure travel, only for emergency situations. YOU ARE NOT A PERMANENT RESIDENT YET<- and it is never safe, they can deny the entry in certain circumstances. speak to an immigration attorney, they can properly advise you. my suggestion is always to wait for your green card, because if it goes wrong none of the guys that are telling you “go ahead it is safe” will be held accountable.

why everyone is saying “go ahead”? don’t you guys understand this is a man with family and if something goes wrong is going to do damage. just do the right thing and and tell him to go and talk to an attorney. don’t use your personal experience and give Him advice based on that, you don’t know his immigration history.

I went in AP 3 times, stayed 30 days each time. I was pulled aside while coming in but they just double checked that's it

@angela the point I’m trying to make here is that before he does anything, he should talk to attorney. it’s never safe. here is not place to get advice. some people travel with no issues, others had a bad experience so the responsible thing to do is just to tell him that. he should consider both sides so can make an informed desicion. although I think he probably got scared 😂 that’s why josh is pissed he can’t handle the other side.

@layth alatrash Honestly I feel like some people are here just to play with other people's emotions. Please, travel from 2 weeks to a month and come back. Go see your family, or visit others countries. I swear, you'll feel way better and relieved. Cause this process can take years!!!

Richard s - you're perfectly right. you shared valuable information and if people still want to shoot themselves in the foot, let them. it's their lives 🤷‍♀️. i agree with all that you've said, and at US embassies the officers say the same things about documents for entry: none of what you are given from them or even USCIS guaranties entry if you're outside because the final word on that rests with the officers you'll be dealing with at the customs/ports of entry. great call on advising to speak with an immigration lawyer.

@Layth, I believe what Richard said. Only go if it's extremely important, otherwise just wait on the greencard. ur experience can be different from others.

stop bickering over this. it’s ridiculous. if you want to play it safe, ask an experienced immigration attorney. you should be able to travel with AP. To come back you would need an AP, vaccination proof and a negative PCR test.

why they gonna give you something is not safe? as long as you don't have criminal records or warrants is safe. is up to the CBP but is up to you bring the papers,not expired passport,licence and the correct forms
