Today marks 753 days since I last received a response.
My marriage-based green card application has been pending for 753 days without any response. I filed my application in August 2024 and completed my interview on April 7, 2025. Since then, my case has gone completely silent. On the day of my interview, the immigration officer requested some additional documents verbally, but I never received any official Request for Evidence (RFE) afterward. This situation is incredibly frustrating.
To address this, my lawyer filed an August 4, 2026, pre-mandamus motion, giving the immigration agency 60 days to respond. My lawyer mentioned that they usually respond promptly and assist in progressing the case, but I haven’t received any response yet. I’m hoping to receive a response before the 60-day deadline. If I don’t receive a response, I’ll have no choice but to file a writ of mandamus myself since I can’t afford to continue paying my lawyer.
I genuinely hope that one day, the immigration agency will listen to my case and the cases of others who are waiting in line. This situation is extremely stressful and frustrating, and I’m at my wit’s end.
