Today marks 753 days since I last received a response.
My marriage-based green card application has been pending for 753 days without any response. I filed my application in August 2024 and completed my interview on April 7, 2025. Since then, my case has gone completely silent. On the day of my interview, the immigration officer requested some additional documents verbally, but I never received any official Request for Evidence (RFE) afterward. This situation is incredibly frustrating.
To address this, my lawyer filed an August 4, 2026, pre-mandamus motion, giving the immigration agency 60 days to respond. My lawyer mentioned that they usually respond promptly and assist in progressing the case, but I haven’t received any response yet. I’m hoping to receive a response before the 60-day deadline. If I don’t receive a response, I’ll have no choice but to file a writ of mandamus myself since I can’t afford to continue paying my lawyer.
I genuinely hope that one day, the immigration agency will listen to my case and the cases of others who are waiting in line. This situation is extremely stressful and frustrating, and I’m at my wit’s end.

did they give you any paper? sometimes they give it at the interview

@olly olly, she didn’t give us any paper. She just verbally informed us that she needed an additional document. I was supposed to receive it after my interview, but since then, it has gone silent.

@Mike QAS, yes, she told me she just needs one bona fide from India. I’m not married in India, that’s all she said. She also mentioned that she had all the necessary documents.

your nationality and married or fiancé

did you try uploading the requested docs through your online account?
R TSep 15, 2026
@D M, I genuinely wanted to do that, but my lawyer advised me that the USCIS has not officially requested any RFE, so it’s not a wise decision. I’m losing hope day by day.
