Time period between interview and receiving card
Hi guys. In your experience, what was the period between doing the interview - approval and having the Green Card in hand? I have a wedding to attend back home and I want to make sure I make it in time. Hopefully!

@kez H USCIS has developed a new off the books tendency by buying time for applicants marriages to hit two years mark before issuing them a 10 year green card.
The logic behind this I’m told, is gear towards saving them millions of dollars in cost for production of millions of conditional green cards. That’s why they are easily issuing work authorizations to applicants to get them working immediately, thereby buying time to hit their second anniversary since they have also begun waiving millions of folks interviews.
However, I must say this new internal ongoing discussion surrounding this idea does not apply to everyone since everyone case is different. So many changes of late.
-They’ve increased validity period of medical from one year to two.
-They’ve begun waiving green card interviews for straight forward cases in their mind.
-They’ve created a new tool for applicants to resechdule their biometrics appointments.
-They’ve changed or improved automated agent access to customer service.
-They are approving new cases filed in 2022-2023 then those from 2020-2021.
The goal is reducing human resource time, paperwork and cost!! All I can say to those waiting is once you have an EAD and Advanced Parole continue to work and go places.
They will approve you once you hit two years or a month to your second anniversary. For those beyond two years, they look more deeper by asking these questions, WHY FILE NOW? WHAT KEPT YOU ALL THESE YEARS FROM FILING?
For those with 8-10 years age gaps with their spouses they will keep you waiting for long beyond two years to see if your marriage is real or if it will collapse to prevent them wasting the green card.
Good luck everyone!!

@John RICHARDS I’m on my STEM OPT so I haven’t gotten EAD from my case, which will help a lot if they actually give me one. but it’s crazy if I have to wait until my second year anniversary, 6 months before that my STEM OPT would be invalid and I can’t go outside country. there is just a lot of uncertainty and waiting period is rediculous
