Thank God
It has been 8 months and 11 days since I submitted my I-140 and I-485 concurrently, without Premium Processing and without an RFE for my I-140 (EB1A). I did the entire process on my own, without attorneys or consultants. I did receive an RFE for my I-485 requesting medical exams. Today, my family and I have received approval for our Green Cards. My status in the U.S. was: B1/B2, pending asylum, and then I filed concurrently. Thank God! #EB1 #EB1A #EB2NIW #PendingAsylum

Thank you, everyone.

I filed for asylum while I was still within my I-94 period, and I applied for AOS while my asylum was pending. Now, I am withdrawing my asylum application.

congratulations! we're you out of status for more than 180 days with pending asylum?

@CP MR Super Congratulations. This case broke that misconception about asylum seekers. That is my case and I have several colleagues with the same condition and the got their Green cards without any issues. The key is applying for the asylum before the I-94 expires. In other hand you save a lot of money doing this by yourself. I make the mistake to hire a lawyer that she spent almost 1 year to prepare my case I regret for not take the decision to make it by my own to save time and money.

Congratulations. I'm just curious: Is a person with a pending asylum allowed to adjust status? How does that work? @CP MR

@CP MR. Can i reach out to you personally for some insights?

@CP MR my case is similar to yours I applied for asylum while in F1 status and I kept my status for 2 years after my initial application of my asylum case. what was your RFE about? I recently submitted my AOS application and I’m worried to get denied if the officer decided that pending asylum is not a legal status. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
