Termination of I-20 due to attendance and its affect of DV lottery winner
hi, my friend was selected as winner in DV lottery last week. He is a language school student here in the US. His school sent an email reporting termination of status as of today. what should we do to make sure his green card process? he is supposed to leave the country asap? or is there another way to deal with this?

his school won’t admit him again unless you referring to go to another institution

N D if your friend is here on a F-1 visa he has to attend school fulltime to maintain his status, if he stopped going to school or took less than fulltime classes he probably is already out of status. consult an immigration lawyer though

Winning the visa lottery alone does not guarantee u a visa thus the school has no right to terminate his F1 status. It's like being approved I140. Once u have not applied for AOS then he should still be on F1. How did the school.get to know he had won. Maybe he told the school or even wen out of state during this period. Pls get a lawyer and apply for AOS asap before ur grace period ends.
