Supporting documents
During our interview, the IO didn’t ask for any supporting document and we made the mistake of handing the ones we had to him. He said everything should be fine but it seems that was an empty promise. It’s now been 11 months and 2 months after a home visit by the DHS, no decision made! To make things worse, there was no RFE sent to us. My concern is how can they decide on our case without supporting documents? Is there any way we can still send those documents to them? I will be glad if you can shed some light to this matter. Thanks in advance!

You have to try to call them to get some sort of information on your case. It's been 2 years too long for them to make a decision. If you already submitted supporting documents, why do you feel you need to submit them again?
Josh bigoshNov 24, 2021
Actually, you don't have to send anything to them. Only if they ask to. Call your congressman or call uscis to make sure if everything is OK. Never, never give any paper if they not ask for.

my suggestion is to get a consultation from a lawyer. I can recommend Jim hacking immigration law company.
Oldrich DutyNov 24, 2021
sorry to hear that! What field office? what visa were you adjusting from?
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
We didn’t submit any supporting document as the IO didn’t ask for any. that’s actually my concern because my case is taking too long and don’t have any supporting document.
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
@Oldrich Duty: Atlanta FO, marriage based greencard
Yanner VNov 24, 2021
so you didn’t submit anything supporting evidence at all, and they didn’t issue an RFE? that’s strange
Yanner VNov 24, 2021
you definitely need a lawyer on your case
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
Funny enough, we have a lawyer. He couldn’t make it to our interview. He keeps telling us to wait, that the case will soon be adjudicated. Also, according to Atlanta FO, our case is still within the processing time.

@nuno how was the home visit?
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
@ kings wifey: It went well I guess. We were asked the same questions as in the initial interview. Just details about our join co-sponsor that we couldn’t remember.

@nuno was it scheduled or they just came? Atlanta is something else. I had my interview yesterday and case is on must be reviewed.
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
@Kings wifey- it’s unannounced. Every case is different, I wish you good luck and I hope your case gets approved soon.

looks like Atlanta FO keeps doing a lot of home visits, if they concentrate on adjudicating cases then they won’t have such long processing times
S LNov 24, 2021
@Nuno, did they gave you any white paper after the interview, after how many days of your interview they visited your home ?
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
@SL: we were not given any white paper to sign. They showed up 9 months after the interview.
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
@Maa Abi- yes, I do! it just got approved.

if they approved the EAD does it mean they technically are not denying the application?
Nuno GomezNov 24, 2021
@JB Eric: I have never heard of an EAD application being rejected. So I guess it means nothing.
