status after green card received
hey folks, this may be a stupid question: once you receive you green card is your status automatically changed from h1b to permanent resident? do I need to update I-9 with employer?

of course. I think you also have to get your driver's license updated.

the issue date on your GC is when you are a PR automatically. You need to update your employer and change i9 effective that date.
