SSN and my Experience
Hello guys ,
Pls I am sharing this information in case there are people that are still waiting for their SSN after receiving their EAD card and they are yet to receive them.,
I called SSA National number and they helped me with my local SSA based on my ZIP code provided to them since they don’t handle such request . I called in order to make enquiry if my SSN application was on their queue based on I-485 filled to allow USCIS to process my SSN. Hiwever, the agent booked an appointment for me to come with my documents- EAD cards / BC / foreign PP and DL with a filled application form which could be downloaded online .
I got there today based on the appointment I had , she checked her system to confirm if USCIS sent a request of such, however , there was no sch request. from them to treat , meaning that if I have waited in anticipation that my SSN card will arrive , it might take longer time than necessary.and I asked her why was it so she replied that at times USCIS did it at their own convenient time .
Hence, my advice is that if you are still waiting for your SSN , pls call them , book appointment and go with your documentation and you will be fined as I did my own this morning and I was told to be expecting it latest 2 weeks time .
May we all experience favour of God and no more delay in all our documentation in Jesus Christ name. , I pray 🙏. Amen

that’s interesting, when I called my local SSN office they said that they cannot check whether or not I’m in a queue for SSN and I have to wait 30 days before making an appointment 😟

they don’t give me an appointment, they said if I apply for myself and USCIS applied for me I would get 2 SSN, so I have to wait 30 days 🤔

I waited 30 days and i never received it. The lady said they mail me one on january 13, I suppose to get it before receiving my EAD on february 21. I told her I never received it. Well, i can view your SSN right now So i will gave you appointment for march 16😒… 😒

@LM , That’s serious. however, it is better to go there and get it sorted out . Does it come in priority mail? Bcos priority mail has a tracking number

@K P no i wasn’t in priority mail. I even went to the post office to ask about it… it was send to them . I guess the worker click it was mail to me already 🤣but she/he never mailed it.

@KP can they give you the Social security number during the appointment? like if we get to know the number we can take care lot of things with it instead of waiting the number for like 2-3weeks

@Stay positive, I am not too sure of that bcos the lady told me to expect it latest 2 weeks or less . I believed another Dept in SSA is responsible for the generation of SSN..

I received my SSN on Monday evening .
I applied in person on 03/03 Thursday
Received in mail on 03/07 Monday.

@LM M, pls go with EAD , valid ID - Govt issued DL or state ID or Int’l PP and Birth certificate. I went with

@LM M, they sent me my SSN Card two days after I applied . I applied on Thursday and got on Monday.
