@Shari I believe you do get another that doesn't say "valid only with DHS authorization" on it. Not sure if the number changes but if it does you can request to merge your information with the old number

if you have it already, nothing should come. Only EAD usually comes in mail. @Kerry S you can ask to update your SS without this note only when you have GC. And number never changes.

@Shari absolutely not! you will get new card after you receive green card

@Shari unfortunately you can’t receive new SSN card without „valid only with DHS authorization” because you still need work permit to legally work in US. Approved VAWA is not a permanent residency, also it doesn’t let you work in US without permit. sorry for bad news @Shari hopefully you will get your green card sooner than later. congrats on your approval

@survivor p honestly it matters not to me, I was just wondering how comes, it waa puzzling when the lady said theres a SSC here for you, i said are you sure and she said yes. i havent receive the c31 EAD as yet just the approval notice. i already have a 5 years combo card. but thank you so much though.

@Shari sometime they can send you SSN card but contains the same number, sometimes they don't send it to you

If you already have one, just go to Social Security office, they will change your status on that same number
