Ask your specific embassy for a valid answer. The US embassy at Austria, Vienna needs 2 weeks. The embassies normally also give you detailed informations on their websites about that.

thanks but information for American embassy in Nigeria is horribly inaccurate! after being told 1-3 months to schedule interview they took 8.

@M A When I last asked them they told me 1 Month. I am at Vienna, too, with the consular process, haha. They are very nice there and answer eMails super fast. :)
