Sister’s Wedding
Hello folks,
My sister is getting married in November. My husband is from Canada and we filled our I-130 last May and are still waiting for a response. I was wondering if anyone knows if he would be allowed into the US for the weekend of the wedding and then return straight to Canada the Monday after. I’ve seen conflicting reports with some saying he’d be fine for such a short time and others saying that it would jeopardize the case being approved. Any guidance will be appreciated.

If he has an evidence showing his ties to Canada, he should be fine. It won’t jeopardize his i130.

Thank you. He still lives and works there, all his family is there, and he’s got rent/utilities still.

He will be fine. I travelled to the US with my tourist visa with a pending I-130 and the officer at the airport didn't even mention it

@Austin H He is completely fine, he can actually visit up to a total of 6 months out of the year. I’m also from Canada and my husband lives in WI, we travel back and forth for a few weeks at a time often. Filed I130 last November so hoping to hear soon! Good luck!

Thanks again for the insight, everyone. I feel like I’ve got egg on my face. He hasn’t come to visit the US since last May because we thought he wasn’t allowed in the country, lol! Ah well, live and learn!
