Sharing Travel experience with pending GC but had travel document and from a 39 banned country
I am a deriative asylee travelled on 5 Dec 2025 and returned on 7 March 2026. Not to COP. Officer was very polite , asked for GC and when i said i didnt have was sent to secondary. At secondary they asked were i was coming from and why i was there. Gave me a piece of paper which i gave another officer at the door and he said i could go.
hope this helps someone , but situations can be different

RTD is Always sent to Secondary.
why?
because RTD doesn’t have ANY scannable part and is NOT up to current standards…they have to check that you are who u claim u are manually and admit your as an asylee with special stamp.

which country did you go can you share more info about visa and all , because i just need to do country out and in , any suggestions will be appreciated

Traveled twice with RTD and twice was sent to secondary, no questions asked just manual verification. Some of my friends travel with home country passport and no secondary. I guess because no chip in the RTD passport

no , you have to go to thier embassy for visa.
