Sharing Time Line So Far
Sharing my #I-130 timeline for other #Potomac filers. I am a citizen in US filing for my spouse living in Thailand.
Processing time for Potomac says 12 months but, I am 13 months in now. Can't file an inquiry until September. Hoping for good news soon...

Maybe try contacting your congressman / senator since your out of processing and can’t inquire.
N SJun 19, 2022
I am working with a lawyer and pushed them about this.
Unfortunately, any inquiries by my lawyer, myself, or a congressman will be replied with that my case is within normal processing times.
September 7th 2022 is the earliest that I can submit anything about my case. USCIS says the processing time posted of 12 months is the average and not the actual expected processing time period.
N SJun 19, 2022
Here is what USCIS says about thier posted processing times and submitting an inquiry:
"If your case is outside normal processing times (beyond the time to complete 93% of adjudicated cases or beyond 130% of the cycle time), you will be provided a link for submitting an inquiry. If your case is within normal processing times, you will be provided an estimated date for when you can contact us."

It doesn’t make sense. You maybe approved this month. I’ve seen some May filers being approved the month after

Agree. USCIS doesn't make any sense ever hahaha. Hopeful to get good news soon. I saw another I-130 Potomac filler was approved after 14 months.

@H K - your inquiry date is likely in August. You can check it on the USCIS website. Same spot you check your case status. Put your info in to check case status then after it shows you the timeline scroll down and you can enter your PD date to get your inquiry date.

@NS. 14 months oh dear. We applied October waiting waiting

That is way too long for a US citizen. I’m very sorry to see that. Hang in there.

@leo pap - I've not even made it to NVC yet. Still waiting on USCIS initial approval of the I-130. I have no doubt embassy and interview part will take awhile. Everyone is on "Thai time" there anyway 😂
N SJul 13, 2022
@leo pap - yes still waiting
N SJul 14, 2022
@leo pap - Received an RFE yesterday. They asked for a birth certificate that was already submitted. My lawyer said USCIS has been issuing RFEs in error frequently lately. I am hoping this at least means they are reviewing my case.
N SJul 20, 2022
Lawyer sent the RFE response today. Hoping to hear something back in the next couple weeks 🙏
N SJul 30, 2022
@leo pap - no updates. Not even RFE received! (sent 2 weeks ago)
Any update on your case?
N SJul 30, 2022
I don't think USCIS has anything to do with the Thai embassy. I think USCIS is just horrible and slow.
After case approval it will go to NVC which then will be dependent on the Thai embassy. Still hopeful to have things wrapped up before end of this year but, time will tell.
Heading back to Thailand next week. The back and forth is getting tiring but, I am glad I am fortunate enough to be able to do it. Can't imagine not being able to see my wife for the last 430 days!
N SSep 1, 2022
Approved today! Wow that was a long wait...
N SSep 10, 2022
@leo pap - can you share the info for the office for police certificate?
N SSep 10, 2022
thank you!
