I requested my i-290b before 180 days elapsed. It's weird that your i-290b as at Chicago office.

@Pop_me L Hello, is your I 290b an appeal to the AAO or a motion to reopen? Appeals seem to be taking about 5 months to be heard.. I am at 4 months.

@Teresa Lee it’s motion to reopen/reconsider. Mine will be exactly 180days on Monday January 22. I found out last week that my I-290b was sent back to the field office- Nebraska on January 9th. When I called again two days ago, the live agent I spoke with decided to raise a service request for me stating that my application is already showing that it is outside the normal processing time. I’m praying that now that it is in the appropriate office, they will work on it quickly.

@Artur D I also found out that their agents are more knowledgeable than each other. You need to ask them series of questions that would make them find the correct answers for you. My application was already sent back to Nebraska when I got through to them but they were just giving me face value responses until I asked one to check the date it was sent to Chicago.

@Pop_me L I have been following lots of I 290B (there are websites you can see timelines and results). some motions seem to be resolved in a few days and some take 4/5 months. I have not seen many over 6 months. the fact that it went to Chicago then back to Nebraska could be good news. but yes, dealing with agents can be quite frustrating..

@Teresa Lee did you get your 1-290b approved? I’m still waiting and it’s almost 11 months now
