Seeking Insight on international travel on advanced parole to a country on the list countries where immigrant visa issuance has been paused.
I currently have a pending I-485 (Adjustment of Status) application, along with an approved EAD and Advance Parole travel document. I have an urgent need to travel to my home country, Ghana 🇬ðŸ‡.
However, I’m concerned that I may experience challenges upon my return at a US port of entry because Ghana is among the 75 countries where the U.S. Department of State has paused the issuance of immigrant visas since January 21, 2026.
Is there anyone here (or do you know anyone) from any of these affected countries who has traveled internationally using Advance Parole since this pause took effect? I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your experience or any insights.
