my i-130 just got transferred to Texas , I filled in August, long wait ahead

how long have you been waiting? when they say they are viewing your case, do you have an idea on how long that will take until you get an answer?

I filed my petition in April, and my case status just changed to “viewing/processing” - I wish you all the luck and blessings! anyone going through this process is the most patient and kind!

@Jasmine Uzodinma they are not even reviewing my case yet and it's been 5 months already , then I found out my case was transferred from Nebraska to Texas so I'm sure I have a longer wait ahead

@lorin I am so sorry, I know during my research it said to expect to wait 10-14 months. December was 10 months for me, and that’s when my status changed. I know once they review it, they have to make a choice within 180 days. to my knowledge once approved, you can expect 4-7 months for your spouse to be here after that. it may depend on the country too. my spouse is in Nigeria.

Our lawyer has told us to expect 10-12 months for Texas! Its definitely hard to wait… My case was “Actively Reviewed” in August! no updates since! Hang in there!

@jasmine Somewhat I believe! we are working with a lawyer for our phase 1 of the I-130 now and she says Texas is taking about 11-12 months from your priority date, so it helps give an idea of the timeline!
