Sacramento FO - GC approved
I completed my interview yesterday at the Sacramento Field Office.
Strangest part was that they didn't even want to interview me and my spouse together, the officer just asked her to wait outside citing that my i-130 petition was already approved so he doesn’t need to talk to her.
Interview experience - took the oath, went over i485 with any new updates, yes/no 485 questions. Asked me if I had any additional evidence - i gave him a binder and asked him to keep the entire binder since I had created it just for the officer. He was really happy with the way everything was organized and said thanks for making my job easy.
In the end, he asked my signature on 485 and said he will recommend for approval as he cannot give me an approval himself. Also mentioned that he will go through the file once again for review and if he found something missing, he will send a mail.
Thats about it! Later in the evening, i got an online update that new card was produced. hope this helps as this community has helped me a lot.
All the best folks!

i created a binder with all bonafide marriage evidence documents and divided them into sections - joint assets, joint finances, joint taxes, utility bills, vital documents, miscellaneous. Each section i had added a “post it” tab and labelled it. Along with this, i had created an index for each section. For example, joint asset index consisted of grant deed, home insurance, home warranty etc.
Also I highlighted our names and addresses on each document for the officer to catch it easily. Hope this helps.

congratulations 🎊

Documents were two years old. We also reduced the redundancy a lot. For example, instead of every months utility bill, we attached every 4th month, if we had trip photos, we dint attach any itineraries at all since its obvious you travelled together. i would say the most important is joint taxes.

did you include the original documents in your binder or just copies?
sac filer2019Sep 9, 2021
no i had a separate folder for orignals but i was not asked for any of those except my drivers license. The officer did not even ask for my passport or my orignal birth nor marriage certificate.
