RFIE but also a request for bio metrics came
Hi! I filed my I-485 back in November and Pd is current. I recieved an RFIE on December 11th and just went to my mail box I have had my biometrics appointment scheduled.
just wondering in the biometrics could be the cause for the RFIE or if I’m likely to get another notice in the mail for something else?

RFIE and biometrics are independent of each other.

@josh baker RFIE will most likely be related to your birth certificate or medical exam. Nowadays, it is very common to get an RFIE right after the submission. it seems like officers at NBC will do pre-processing right after the application submission during which they will find deficiencies in birth certificate or medical exam. I guess, at the same time, another officer in charge of biometric appointment sent you the letter in parallel.

@K L you are right we got rfe letter today! for birth certificates. strange as we sent long form copies for all in English! but will be resending again!

@josh baker make sure you understand and follow the exact requirements for birth certificate. even a small mistake (like omitting a word in the translation) could cause a trouble. good luck!
