Rfe on i-485 application
I got RFE on my i-485 application on tuesday.its been 6 month that i submitted my i485 application . today i called USCIS.They told me that due to incomplete I-485 application.i told them do i have to send other documents or photos they says no just fill the new application and answer all questions and also send copy of RFE letter.
i am confused like i filled application on feb25 2024 through help of one of the immigration service center in newyork and theyget me lawyer to fillup all .but i dont know how my application got mistake. or did they lost some pages?

Sometimes the version of i485 form is expired and sometimes you missed some information on the i485 form . Because in the latest version of i485 USCIS, added new columns those were not included in the older version. Could be that thing also . Always have the copy of the application you submitted so you can compare later on.

@dpeao dapi i am still waiting 5-6 days already but i called uscis and they told me that they can look and say that due to incomple i-485 application and want me to send again just the application and copy of notice letter. I do have previous copy of my submitted application i looked over its good but i dont know hwat happen.

okay just wait for the rfe and then complete a new I 485 form with the newest edition 2024 then when you mail it out make sure you put the RFE copy notice on top of the form and mail both together. You can also pre prepare it now so you have it ready once you have the RFE notice in mail.

@dpeao dapi actually i filled my form with an help of lawyer before. can i file by myself now to submit again or do i have to reach him out again ?

@Bless mgr fill it out yourself if you know how to do it, if not reach out to your lawyer now and he will do it for an additional fee, explain that you have that it’s an RFE and they know how to respond, the faster your respond the better it is for your case. Once you submit your RFE response the case will update to RFE received. Mine took a day after mail was delivered to be updated on the system, because I put the RFE copy first so they can scan it faster.
