RFE Medical
my vawa was approved Febuary 2024. As of today I got an update on my I-485 for RFE. which I am assuming is my medical. I found out that I am pregnant a few days ago. I am wondering will that have an affect on my application or my medical ? my pregnancy is not with my ex husband it is with a new partner. can USCIS question that?

if you’re divorced then you’re good nothing to worry about, just don’t marry until you get the GC in hand

Pregnancy test is not part of the tests required for I485, you are good

@kim John Since you're not married to your new partner but you’re just pregnant, you're fine. Just inform your surgeon, and they will advise you on whether you should take the vaccine or not.

no problem if you divorced your abuser, otherwise it’s a problem

thank you all! I am divorced and have been for about 3 years now. just wanted to make sure this won’t affect my application.

@kim john it won't have anything to do with uscis.. please get advice from your GYN baby doctor about the shots u have to take on the medical. to prevent any unnecessary harm to the baby

I’m unsure if my case was transferred @D O. I was never notified I think my case is at my field office

@kim John no, they won't but you have to tell your civil surgeon that you are pregnant because you might need to get some shots if you haven't been vaccinated

@kim John another thing to bear in mind is, if you have your baby before your GC interview, you will want to mention that so they can update your I-485 application to include your child, otherwise it can be an issue later on when you apply for citizenship because they will refer to your I-485 application. This advice comes from a lawyer I follow on Youtube
